Our Story
Built from resilience, discipline, and vision.
Coach Ian Jackson was born and raised in Washington, D.C., in Ward 7's Kenilworth neighborhood, an area known for its challenges but also its resilience. Growing up in that environment helped shape his passion for mentorship, discipline, and helping young people realize their potential.
Despite the obstacles around him, Coach Jackson excelled both academically and athletically. He graduated from H.D. Woodson Senior High School with honors and later attended Virginia State University, where he also graduated with honors.
At Virginia State, he walked on to the football team and became part of the 2014 CIAA Championship team, contributing as a linebacker and special teams player. His path reflects the standard Boys2Men teaches: athlete, scholar, and leader.
Beyond athletics, Coach Jackson spent nine years working with the Department of Juvenile Justice, gaining extensive experience with youth from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. That work deepened his ability to mentor, guide, and positively influence young people who need direction, support, and structure.
After relocating to Central Virginia, coaching revealed his deeper calling. What began as youth sports instruction evolved into a broader mission: using sports as a platform to build character, leadership, and life skills in young men. That vision became Boys2Men.
